Synopsis
Leading Technology Projects with SCRUM is a hands on workshop which builds on basic project management concepts and focuses on the unique conditions, challenges, and complexity of Information Technology projects. It highlights the interaction between project management tools and techniques and software development life cycle methodology.
Scrum is a management and control process that cuts through complexity to focus on building software that meets business needs
What the Student will Learn
This workshop will demonstrate to participants the differences between project management methods and the scrum process. Participants will learn how to use both to ensure successful delivery of technology that delivers on organizational objectives.
Special attention is given to developing skills necessary for IT professionals to lead both technical and non-technical teams and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Pre-Requisites
- Experience working in a technology project environment
- Basic knowledge of project management processes
Instructor Bio
Diane Altwies, MBA, PMP is a certified project management professional and author of three project and program management books, including “Achieve PMP Exam Success: A concise study guide for the busy project manager”. Ms. Altwies has managed software development projects for over 25 years and continues to explore new ways to improve the overall success of technology projects in organizations—in this case, through Scrum.
Ms. Altwies manages and consults with teams wanting to implement Scrum in their environment as a compliment to a strong project management methodology. A guest Scrum Master will be on hand.
